By arlen arron at 2010-12-01 05:25:41
Some of the associations with developing allergies or food sensitivities are exposure in utero, if the mother consumes a lot of the same food during pregnancy, infant exposure to highly allergenic foods (wheat, corn, dairy), poor digestion resulting in increased absorption of macromolecules, decreased secretory IgA, decreased adrenal function, and increased exposure to various toxins and allergens increasing sensitivity.

After spring, seasonal allergies still exist however the only difference is that there is a shift in the types of symptoms people experience. Some people experience allergies in other forms but do not realize that they are having an allergic reaction. There are many new medications on the market to deal with problems and symptoms that may arise so if one doesn't work well for you, there are plenty of others to try.

Seasonal allergy causes a variety of symptoms and no two individuals will suffer in exactly the same way. The common symptoms however include the following:

- Itchy and runny eyes. You may also experience the feeling of having something stuck under your eyelid even though there's nothing there.

- Constant sneezing that can also develop into a cough.

- A tickling sensation at the back of your throat that you can't get rid of.

- A runny nose, or alternatively you may have blocked sinuses.

Seasonal allergies, otherwise called hay fever, reoccur about twice a year when triggering allergens are present in the air. A primary antagonist allergen that causes symptoms in most individuals appear is pollen, and airborne pollen levels increase during the spring and fall seasons. This is when these symptoms are most likely to flare up. Symptoms, when untreated, will last the entire season or at least until the triggering allergen is no longer present in the environment.

Saline or Saltwater Nose Rinses. Saline rinses can be purchased or can be made at home by simply combining 8 ounces of warm water, with 1/4 of a teaspoon of table salt, and 1/8 of a teaspoon of baking soda. Rinsing the nasal cavity with a saline rinse will wash out pollen and other debris, while working to dry built up mucus.

Fatty Acids from poultry and Flaxseed have been known to assist many people in the prevention of allergic reactions in people. The consumption of essential Fatty Acids in your daily dietary intake can reduce that allergic reaction. Adding daily doses of Vitamin C tablets can lower your levels of histamine in your blood, and eating plenty of produce will be a key also.

The best thing you can do to treat your allergies is to visit your doctor to find out what microscopic substance is causing you to have this reaction and get the best medicine for it. Another way to cure allergies is to use a remedy. There are many remedies to rid your body of the symptoms, including herbal remedies that do not cause you to feel drowsy.

Magnesium is a mineral that can be helpful in allergy relief. Studies have shown many people seeking season allergy relief are deficient in magnesium. Once the level is raised the sufferer notices less symptoms. Magnesium is located in green leafy vegetables as well as nuts. If you do not have these in your diet consider pharmaceutical grade supplements.

The real challenge with seasonal allergies is that avoidance is not a choice. You have to breathe. Consulting an allergist may be necessary to identify potential allergens if your symptoms are severe. Having said that, there are several fundamental tools your health care provider can offer to find a solution tailored to your individual needs.

If your symptoms are mild then one thing you can do to help is to take an over the counter allergy medication. There are many different brands available. You will need to make sure you read the directions carefully because some of these medications will make you drowsy or have other side effects associated with them.

Seasonal allergies may not be serious, but they can be the bane of your life. Streaming eyes, streaming nose, sneezing, itchy palate are just some of the delights that await seasonal allergy sufferers. It's difficult to concentrate on work, driving or any activity if you're constantly stuffing tissues up your nose or sneezing, especially if it comes in spasms. And people tend to avoid you, thinking they might catch something unspeakable from you.

Those who want to relieve seasonal allergy symptoms without having to use different medications can try some of the many natural treatments. There are a variety of supplements that will help to fight against the symptoms using natural methods. Some of the most common include honey, nettle, and ginko biloba.

Symptoms of seasonal allergies occur suddenly and continue as long as the person exposed to the allergen " cause of allergy".
